Why Central Kruger For Birding?
Each camp on this route offers a distinct habitat and unique birding opportunities:
- Satara is a haven for raptors, ground birds, and summer migrants, with its wide open plains and acacia-dotted grasslands.
- Letaba lies along the Olifants River and features a mosaic of mopane woodland, riverine forest, and open floodplains—perfect for woodland and water-associated species.
- Olifants boasts sweeping views of the river valley and access to excellent birding both on foot and by vehicle.
During the peak birding months (October to March), when migrants arrive and activity peaks, it’s not uncommon to log 200–250 species over a four-night trip with expert guidance.
