Experience a Kruger National Park afternoon safari during one of the most beautiful times of day in the bush. Our shared afternoon game drive in Kruger is led by a professional guide in an open safari vehicle, offering excellent wildlife viewing, warm afternoon light, and the chance to catch animals as they become more active later in the day.

This is a shared Kruger safari, not a private tour. There may be multiple pick-ups from different accommodation establishments before we enter the park. Pick-up times are seasonal and typically take place between 13:00 and 14:00, depending on the time of year and gate closing times. What to Expect on Your Kruger Afternoon Game Drive

After collection (or meeting at a Kruger gate), we travel to the nearest entrance gate, complete the required entry procedures, and begin your guided Kruger game drive. Afternoon safaris offer a different rhythm to the morning: the light softens, temperatures cool later in the day, and many animals start moving toward water and feeding areas.

Your guide will adapt the route based on wildlife movement, water sources, and current conditions, while sharing insight into animal behaviour, ecosystems, and conservation. Every safari is unique—shaped by the natural rhythm of the Kruger National Park.

Comfort Stop (Rest Camp / Picnic Spot)

During the drive, we include a comfort stop at a rest camp or designated picnic area where you can stretch your legs, use facilities, and purchase refreshments where available. You are also welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks (no alcohol allowed on the vehicle).

Open Safari Vehicle (Comfort + Visibility)

Our open safari vehicles provide elevated seating and excellent visibility—ideal for a Kruger safari game drive and for guests who enjoy photography. Vehicles include roll-down canvas sides for wind and weather protection, and we provide fleece-lined ponchos for cooler afternoons or unexpected rain.

Duration & Return Time

This Kruger afternoon safari runs until gate closing time. We exit the park at the applicable gate at closing, then return to begin drop-offs at your accommodation. Because gate closing times change seasonally, the total duration of the safari will vary slightly throughout the year.

Wildlife Sightings In Kruger

Kruger is a vast wilderness with free-roaming animals, so no wildlife sightings can be guaranteed. What we do guarantee is a professional, ethical safari led by guides who know the park intimately—giving you the best possible chance of seeing a wide variety of wildlife, from iconic mammals to exceptional birdlife.
