What to Expect?

Our itinerary is designed to combine immersive game viewing with ample relaxation time. Typically, you’ll stay 2 or 3 nights at each camp (subject to availability), allowing you to unpack fully, settle in, and soak up the unique atmosphere of each location.

We recommend a balanced game drive schedule: every second day features a full-day drive, while the alternate days offer morning and afternoon drives. This pacing leaves time for a refreshing swim, a leisurely lunch, or an afternoon rest to recharge.

The camps themselves offer wonderful opportunities to explore on foot—enjoy the sights, sounds, and scents of the bush. Evening walks along the camp’s fence line with a flashlight might reveal elusive nocturnal creatures like hyenas or owls, which are rarely seen during the day.

Flexible Itinerary & Optional Activities

We tailor your daily schedule to your preferences and energy levels. Whether you want to sleep in, spend more time by the pool, or join an optional activity, your guide will work with you to plan the perfect day.

Optional activities available at various camps include:

E
Morning & Afternoon Bush Walks (approx. 3 hours)
E
Night Drives (approx. 2 hours)
E
Traditional Bush Braai (BBQ in the bush)

Please let us know in advance if you wish to book any optional activities to secure your place. Alternatively, you can discuss these directly with your guide during the safari, but availability is limited.

Camps & Seasonal Planning

The choice of camps depends on the time of year and availability. Our approach focuses on staying in up to six different camps to follow animal seasonal movements, ensuring you are in the best areas for sightings.

Two-night stays at each camp are preferred to work around check-in/check-out times (check-out at 10:00 AM, check-in from 14:00). On transfer days, we use the intervening time for full-day game drives, maximizing your wildlife viewing.

Some of the camps we frequently enjoy include (but are not limited to):

  • Berg-en-Dal
  • Skukuza
  • Lower Sabie
  • Satara
  • Letaba / Olifants
  • Mopani
  • Bateleur
  • Shingwedzi
  • Punda Maria
