This is the Complete Kruger National Park Photographic Experience and personally my favourite Safari. With this photo safari we traverse the entire KNP and experience her in full. The KNP is extremely diverse and the only way to truly see it all is to do a safari like this. From North to South the KNP has got forests, grasslands, open savannas and dense bushlands. These diverse landscapes create habitats for an amazing array of wildlife and birdlife which makes it one of Africa’s premier photographic destinations.
With about 2 million hectares of unrivalled diversity in animal and plant life, there will always be something to admire and photograph.
Sighting the “Big Five” has become something of a quest for many people when on safari, and the Kruger National Park has more than its fair share of these, with an estimated 1,600 lion, 20,000 elephant, 48,000 buffalo and 1,000 leopards. It should certainly not be a pre-requisite of a safari to see these or even a priority, as there are many other fascinating animals and birds that roam the African wilderness.
11 Nights 12 Days
This is truly the Iconic Kruger National Park Photographic Safari. This package is very popular as it is not long, but long enough to do a decent photographic safari and being able to visit different parts of the park to experience its diversity.
As we specialize in Wildlife Photography, we know that every Photographer has different needs and goals when going on an African Photographic Safari. Thus here at Wild Photo Africa we will always discuss the plan for the day with our guests and find out what their photographic or safari mission is and we will work accordingly to try and fulfil that wish to the best of our abilities, but of course within reasonable terms.
All our Photographic Safaris are private! This means that you and your party will have full use of the vehicle and photographic guide for the entire day. The Photographic Guide will also devote all his attention and expertise towards you and your party to ensure that you can get the best service possible. Your guide will also assist with tutoring on the vehicle where needed and with post-processing of images.
Mornings and late afternoons are the best time for photography, and we usually plan our safaris accordingly so that we are out there at the best times of the day. However, we are flexible and if we have a possible good sighting or we would like to go to another area we adapt and can stay out the whole day. We are there to get those photos and we will do what needs to be done to get them.
We offer optional activities that can be done at various camps. Please let us know in advance if you are interested in doing some of these to secure your spot. Otherwise, you can also talk to your guide while on safari about these options and where they are best to do, however there is then a good chance that these activities might be fully booked already.

Below is a rough Itinerary of the trip. This is subject to change depending on the time of the year as well as accommodation availability.
The camps we stay in will depend on the time of the year and availability. We do however try to book 5 different camps spread out over the entire park for 2 nights at each camp. The reasoning behind this is because animals have seasonal movements, and we would like to be in the best areas possible for us to have the best chance in finding them. We also opt for 2 nights at each camp, this is because of off check-out and check-in times. When we move from one rest camp to the next, we need to check out by 10Am, and we can only check in back at 14:00. We normally use these days to do a full day game drive and spend our time searching for animals. By having 2 nights at a rest camp, allows us more flexibility and time to change it up by doing an early morning drive and late afternoon drive. This gives you some time during the middle of the day when its at its hottest, to rest, enjoy the swimming pool or even to enjoy a cold beer at the restaurant overlooking a river.
Arrival at Phalaborwa Gate, KNP. Once everyone has arrived, we will depart on our first leg of an epic photographic adventure in the world-famous Kruger National Park. We will drive in the direction of Letaba camp while we are doing a slow drive to see if we can find some nice sightings.
